WILL DANCE FOR FOOD - March 1-2, 2019
Taylorsville High School
5225 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville
Arrive AT LEAST 1.5 hours before your first routine is scheduled OR when doors open. This competition may run up to 30 minutes ahead of schedule and will not wait or allow routines to perform out of order. No video recording. THEY ARE SERIOUS!!! Please tell your family and don't think you can be sneaky!! We see you doing it from the audience and so do the WDFKP staff! Just relax and buy the video. I also highly recommend following the Twitter feed, especially if you have more than one dancer.
It will take extra time to park and get into the school. Please plan accordingly. 😊

A message from our dear friend, Penny, Director of WDFKP:
We are just a few days from our 8th annual Will
Dance for Food Competition and couldn’t be more excited! Thank you so
much for your support of this important cause and for the example of giving
back you shared by your dancers and parents. That is what they will remember long after the competition is over.
It’s going to be a great competition with a feeling of giving and
sharing. Take some time to remind your dancers why this competition is
different from the rest. Their participation helps to make sure no child goes
to bed hungry. For this weekend, they are dancing to help kids who are not
as fortunate as they are & that is a VERY BIG DEAL! Together we are indeed
“Dancing to Make a Difference”. I can’t thank you enough for your help,
support & friendship. I am honored to work on this project with such
amazing, kind, generous & beautiful people!!

Videos will be filming the competition and you can purchase your DanceBug videos
at their table and then stream them on your electronic devices & save them
on your own personal DanceBug account. Studios will
be given an access code for all your routines to get your judges critiques. You
can share your code with teachers & dancers so they can see their routines
& critiques.
All solos, duos
& trios will dress in the cafeteria on Friday. Boy’s dressing room is
backstage in the auditorium stage left for both days.
Dressing rooms
for studios have been assigned and there will be a hostess at the admissions
table to take you to your dressing room when you arrive on Sat. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THE DANCERS
ARE RESPECTFUL OF THE ROOMS THEY ARE GIVEN. Parents, please help enforce this! Please
don’t allow dancers to write on the boards, eat in the rooms or disrupt things
in the rooms. Many of the rooms have new carpet so keep this in mind.
Stage right there is a QUICK CHANGE
room for
dancers who need it. Please get in and out of the quick-change room when you
use it so everyone who needs to use it has availability. There is also a
quick-change room right outside the gym doors. Look for the signs.
USE TWITTER to know what routine
is performing on each stage. We are going to be TWEETING what
routine is currently performing in both the gym and the auditorium. For
example: g21 would mean routine 21 in the gym or a37 would mean routine 37 in
the auditorium. All you have to do is follow WDFKP on Twitter and have the Twitter app on your smartphone.
(The app is free and available in most app stores. (How tech savvy of
me…right??) Make sure you & your staff & parents sign up for a Twitter
account before the competition if you don’t already have one so you are set to
go!
Solo, duo, trio contestants should
pick up their score sheets after their awards ceremony on Friday.
