Spotlight Solo Form

The solo form for Spotlight is below. Remember, fees are due Monday, February 2. Solo forms are due no later than Tuesday, February 3. Very detailed information is needed for Spotlight. Please ensure every field is filled out or registration won't be able to be completed. PLEASE READ REGISTRATION RULES BELOW CAREFULLY AND CHECK WITH YOUR CHOREOGRAPHER IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. SPOTLIGHT REQUIRES A $25 FOR ANY CHANGE REQUESTS AFTER REGISTRATION.

Recreational Divisions - Please read the level descriptions carefully and be fair and honest, as your dancers’ placement is based on the honor system. Any routine challenged and found to be ineligible may be disqualified or bumped to the proper division at the Show Director’s and/or Judges’ discretion.

These Divisions are divided by age (11 & under and 12 & up) for overall awards unless the minimum number of routines requirement is not met, in which case they will be combined at Spotlight’s discretion.

Novice Gems – No Competitive Division dancers permitted in the Novice Gems Division. This division is for recreational dancers and/or new competitors who meet at least 2 of these criteria: 1) Train 2 hours a week or less; 2) Had a total of 2 years or less of dance training in any one or combination of dance forms; or 3) First year competitors (1 year is a season of 9 months or more.) Solos and duos/trios must be 100% Novice. For groups and lines, at least 70% of the dancers must be Novice with the remaining 30% Future Gems level only.

NEW & IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING NOVICE DIVISION DANCERS: ANY dancer registered and performing in more than three Competitive Division routines of any size is INELIGIBLE to compete in a Novice Division solo, duo, or trio, regardless of their eligibility for the Division. The dancer(s); however, are welcome to “dance up” and compete solos, duos or trios within the appropriate Competitive Division. Novice Gems routines may not include feature roles by non-Novice dancers. Novice Gems dancers possess modest skill levels. Dancers with more moderate skills should enter the Future Gems Division.

Future Gems Division – This division is for recreational dancers ages 11 & Under and 12 & Up that currently train and have trained 5 hours or less per week over the past 3 years (this includes ANY class or rehearsal time). All dancers in any group size must meet these criteria by 100%.

NEW & IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FUTURE GEMS DIVISION DANCERS: ANY dancer registered and performing in more than three Competitive Division routines of any size is INELIGIBLE to compete in a Future Gems Division solo, duo, or trio, regardless of their eligibility for the Division. The dancer(s); however, are welcome to “dance up” and compete solos, duos or trios within the appropriate Competitive Division.
