Battle of the Best Info - April 14

Utah Dance Fest 2018 BATTLE OF THE BEST - April 14 Kingsbury Hall, University of Utah, 1395 Presidents Cir, Salt Lake City, UT A message from the director of Utah Dance Fest:  The preliminary Battle Show Order and competition day info is now posted on our website: www.utahdancefest.com . A final show order will be posted one week prior to the Battle and will not be adjusted after that. We hope all dancers will take the opportunity to attend the morning masterclass with the judges! 9:00 am – 11:00 am MASTER CLASSES with the BATTLE JUDGES – Fred Odgaard & Alyx Andrushuk Programs will be available for free on the day of the Battle but online lineups and info will also be available on our website under BATTLE OF THE BEST. Admission to The Battle is $15 per person (except dancers, teachers and directors with nametags/wristbands which we will give you at the backstage check in desk). Discount Masterclass Training!

Discount Masterclass training offered to anyone interested in improving singing and acting skills: Tuesday, March 27 - 7 to 8 PM and/or Thursday, March 29 - 8 to 9 PM @Infinity Dance UT, Ogden Studio location Cost is only $18 per class. Hollywood Vibe Solos Info.

Hollywood Vibe has a limit on the total number of routines per studio at the May competition. This means we will have availability for only about 10+ solos. If you are interested in competing your solo at this event, please sign up on the wait list in the office. (Accounts must be current in order to be on the list). Solo selections will be made at the discretion of the director, with consideration for representation across ages and genres and based on overall performance in the advanced division at previous competitions. The wait list will be open March 26-29 only. Thanks! 😊

Bear River Performance Line Up - TONIGHT!

Salt Master Class with Gustavo Ramírez Sansano

This is an optional master class. If you attend, please make sure this doesn't conflict with any team obligations. Dancers must register independently. Thanks! Gustavo Ramírez Sansano is currently one of the most recognized Spanish dance figures, both as choreographer and artistic director, inside and outside of Spain. He started dancing in the school of Josetta García and continued his training at the Institut del Teatre. As an interpreter he has been part of the Ballet Joven de Barcelona, Ballet by Víctor Ullate, Nederlands Dans Theater (Holland) and Hubbard Street Dance (Chicago). As a freelance choreographer he has created for the most prestigious companies in the world including: Budapest Dance Theater (Hungary), Gyorï Ballet (Hungary), IT Dansa (Spain), Ballet de Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana (Spain), Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (USA), Dominic Walsh Dance Theater (United States), Hamburg Ballet (Germany), Ballet Met (United States).

Watch for additional info to be posted as it becomes available from Utah Dance Fest. Registration fee is $45 per dancer per routine. Payment is now due. Aspire Competition - Updated Schedule

Aspire Dance Competition – Val Browning Center Weber State University 1901 University Cir, Ogden UT March 9-10 • Free Admission: All spectators may view the competition free of charge! • Doors Open: 9:00 am Friday morning and 8:30 am Saturday morning.  Admittance will not be granted prior to this time. • Parking: Due to it being spring break at Weber State, the normal pay parking lots near the Val Browning Center are open and will have free parking. • Dancer Arrival Time: All solo, duet and trio performers need to check in upon arrival AT LEAST 45 MINUTES PRIOR to their scheduled performance. Please be early! If we are running ahead of schedule, we will not wait for latecomers. Any music CD's can be submitted at this time.  • Music CD Option: If music is not uploaded to website, each routine's music should be burned SEPARATELY on a CD. Please mark your studio's (or soloist's) name and the routine name clearly on each CD. No CD's will be accepted wi

Ogden IPC Dress Rehearsal Info.

Ogden IPC dancers will hold dress rehearsals during their regular class times this week. Costumes and hair/make-up instruction notes will be sent home with each dancer in their last rehearsal class of the week. Please make sure accounts are current and check with your teacher if you have any questions. Information for the competition on March 9-10 has been posted. Please refer to the Aspire Competition and Information post here for the weekend schedule and a list of dancer routines. One more thing, please remember our BEST Infinity audience etiquette. Please cheer for all dancers at appropriate times (beginning/end of routines only) and no calling out of names or screaming or shouting. "Keep it classy" 😊. We are good friends with the other participating studios and want to show appreciation and respect for everyone. Message from Mandy - WDFKP

Hey everyone! There is a snow advisory for this weekend so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE leave very early and allow plenty of extra time for travel. We don't want anyone rushing in slick conditions. WDFKP has a very tight schedule which doesn't permit routines to perform out of order. Please drive carefully and plan to arrive at least 2 hours early or when doors open. BE safe out there!!

WDFKP Reminders

Hello Everyone! We are so excited for our WILL DANCE FOR FOOD COMPETITION this weekend & wanted to remind you of a few things: 1.  It sounds like we will get some snow this weekend. Please let your parents & teachers know to plan extra time for travel.  We want everyone to be safe & on time! 2.  Doors do not open on Friday until 3:00 p.m.  Saturday is 7:00 a.m. Please don't arrive earlier than that. 3.  You will get your Dressing Room assignments when you check in.   4.  Make sure you have backup music for all routines.   5.  We are hoping to run ahead of schedule with our new music system. Let parents & teachers know we may be up to 30 minutes ahead. Thanks so much for you support of WDFKP!  You are making a BIG DIFFERENCE in the lives of hungry Utah kids.
