WILL DANCE FOR FOOD COMPETITION 2016

March 4-5, 2016 at Taylorsville High School

5225 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City, UT

We are very excited to be part of this awesome event! Here is a message from the competition director:

Remember, at this competition we are dancing to make a difference in the lives of hungry children in Utah.  1 in 5 Utah children do not know where their next meal will come from so the need is great! Our goal this year is to meet or exceed our 2015 donation of $50,000 to the Kid's Cafe and Backpack programs at the Utah Food Bank. Together we can make it happen!! We want this to be a great day for everyone!

1.  There is an admission charge to the competition.  $6 Adults $5 Ages 4-18 $10 2 day pass $4 Seniors (65+) Kids under 4 free.  Programs can be purchased for $2.

2.  NO VIDEO TAPING OR PHOTOGRAPHY OF ANY KIND IN PERFORMANCE AREAS.  DRC Video Judge will be taping the entire competition & videos can be purchased in the lobby.  *Video taping or photography can result in disqualification. If parents know this in advance we don't have any issues. Studios will receive their free Video Judge DVD's of all routines within two weeks of the competition.

3.  DOORS WILL NOT OPEN ON FRIDAY UNTIL 2:30 PM.  PLEASE DO NOT COME EARLIER THAN THIS AS SCHOOL IS JUST GETTING OUT AT TAYLORSVILLE HIGH.  DOORS WILL OPEN ON SAT. @ 7:00 AM

4.  All Solos, Duos & Trios will dress in the Cafeteria on Friday.  Dressing rooms assignments for Studios will be given when you check in on Saturday.  All dressing rooms must be left clean & neat.  Dressing rooms deposits will not be returned until after your room has been cleared.

5.  Plan to arrive early as we may run ahead of schedule.  We make every effort to be right on time and feel awful when Grandma comes at exactly 10:00 and her darling dancer performed at 9:45.  We may also get behind from time to time but we catch up!

6.  There will be a Twitter feed during the competition so you can always know which numbers are on in both the Auditorium & Gym Stage.  Follow us on Twitter @WDFKP.  Sample below:

g307 = routine 307 in the gym

a241 = routine 241 in the auditorium

7.  We have several awards ceremonies to make the day run smoother and faster.  We need all studio directors to please be at the final awards ceremony on the Auditorium stage at 8:45 pm to receive your plaques and be recognized. If you can't be there, please arrange for one of your teachers to be attend.

8.  We also have a LIVE AUCTION with each award ceremony and a SILENT AUCTION going on in the lobby all day.  We have some fabulous items that have been donated to help us reach our fundraising goal!  Be sure to check it out and encourage parents to do the same.  You can get a great deal on everything from chemical peels to car washes!  In addition, you will notice we have PRIZE DRAWINGS scheduled at the last Award Ceremony.  Winners need not be present to win so keep selling those tickets!

9.  Please remind solo, duo and trio dancers to pick up their music after they perform and get their score sheets in the lobby after the awards ceremony. Studios should also remember to get your music and score sheets as well.  Music can be picked up after each award ceremony. Score sheets will be given in the lobby after the final awards.

10.  All dancers should be lined up 4 dances before they perform on their assigned stage.  Taylorsville Chirons will be lining up the dancers.

SOLOISTS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO CHECK AND PICK UP THEIR OWN MUSIC AT THIS COMPETITION.
