WDFKP Schedule & Info.

A message from the WDFKP Director.

Dear Friends,

We are one week from our 7th annual Will Dance for Food Competition and couldn’t be more excited! Thank you so much for your support of this important cause and for your parents and dancers giving back to the community. That is what they will remember long after the competition is over!
PLEASE READ THE FINAL REMINDERS CAREFULLY & PASS ON TO YOUR DANCERS & PARENTS:

Doors will open at 3:00 pm on Friday. Competition starts at 3:30 pm on Auditorium Stage & 4:00 pm on Gym Stage. Doors open at 7:00 am on Saturday. Competition starts on Auditorium Stage at 8:00 am & Gym Stage at 8:30 am. Please don’t arrive earlier than the time the doors open.
Please make sure your parents know there is an admission charge at the door:
$7 Adults/ $6 Students ages 4-18 & Seniors age 65+ Kids under 3 are free
Two day passes are $12/ $10 We accept CASH, PAYPAL, CREDIT CARDS & VENMO!
*REMIND THEM that all proceeds go the Kid’s programs at UFB
There is NO VIDEO TAPING OR PHOTOGRAPHY! MAKE SURE PARENTS KNOW THIS PLEASE!! DOING SO COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. DRC Videos will be filming the competition and you can purchase your DanceBug videos at their table and then stream them on your electronic devices & save them on your own personal DanceBug account.

All solos, duos & trios will dress in the cafeteria on Friday. Boy’s dressing room is backstage in the auditorium stage left for both days.

Dressing rooms for studios have been assigned and there will be a hostess at the admissions table to take you to your dressing room when you arrive on Saturday. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THE DANCERS ARE RESPECTFUL OF THE ROOMS THEY ARE GIVEN. Please don’t allow them to write on the boards, eat in the rooms or disrupt things in the rooms. Many of the rooms have new carpet so keep this in mind.

USE TWITTER to know what routine is performing on each stage. We are going to be TWEETING what routine is currently performing in both the gym and the auditorium. For example: g21 would mean routine 21 in the gym or a37 would mean routine 37 in the auditorium. All you have to do is follow WDFKP on Twitter and have the Twitter app on your smartphone. (The app is free and available in most app stores. Make sure you & your staff & parents sign up for a Twitter account before the competition if you don’t already have one so you are set to go!)

All music should have been uploaded in advance. Please make sure parents & teachers have a backup CD/flash drive/iPod/phone readily available in case there is a problem.

Solo, duo, trio contestants should pick up their score sheets after their awards ceremony on Friday. Studio score sheets will be available after the final awards ceremony on Saturday. Please make sure you get them!!

It’s going to be a great competition with a feeling of giving and sharing. Take some time to remind your dancers why this competition is different from the rest. Their participation helps to make sure no child goes to bed hungry. For this weekend they are dancing to help kids who are not as fortunate as they are & that is a VERY BIG DEAL! Together we are indeed “Dancing to Make a Difference.” I can’t thank you enough for your help, support & friendship. I am honored to work on this project with such amazing, kind, generous & beautiful people!!

With love and appreciation,

Penny Broussard WDFKP Director
